Party Dyke's Pride Guide - Where to be this Pride/CSD Weekend in Berlin (July 24-27)

The time is upon us again my dears and darlings. Prepare your body. Prepare your mind. CSD weekend is a'coming. And the opportunities are all but endless. Here's where I foresee the vibes: updates will be forthcoming.

Like all of my party recommendations, this is not a comprehensive list of queer events (frankly, every club in the damn city will be slapping a rainbow on their door to leech out some of your sweet homosexual moolah), these are the ones I can hope dykes of all types can have a dance, feel safe and connect with each other, which are organised by decent folks who care about our community—and hopefully where you won't end up in a sweaty room full of circuit-gays batting you about like a ping-pong ball.

Take to the streets, then to the bar, then to the club... and another club... then rinse and repeat, baby. When things get rough out there, there's nowhere better to heal than the dancefloor. Sleep is for the straights.

Day one of Queer Garten's two-day FLINTA* party extravaganza, with night one taking over 4 floors of Ritter Butzke. This is the big one, my loves. With performances from the Magic Dyke crew and the ever-excellent Dornika bringing the angry-queer-radical music we need right now, what more could you ask for? It's going to crazy.

Day 2 of Queer Garten's pride extravaganza: this time a rooftop party with a BBQ, a wee market, live shows, shibari—the whole shebang. Music will be a big ol' mix of R&B, pop, house, techno... a little bit of something for everyone.

It's a big dykey pool party. It's going to be hot as all hell. What more do you need? Get out there and flirt, or just gaze longingly across the pool (you've never seen so many a longing lesbian gaze). There will be 3 floors so there should be something for everyone; a bit of pop, house and techno. Dress hot, take shots, and maybe actually talk to the hot [insert your type here] this time.

The vibe is profound genderfuckery and the sweatiest homosexuality; the name says a lot. This is where you embrace chaos. The music is always glorious; everthing your queer soul craves. Things will be getting swampy over at Kater: a big ol' queer extravaganza featuring some of my favorite folks on decks. Queer party NEST teams up with our favorite FLINTA* prog collective; frog, and Kater's own bodyshift. If you want to dance for 27 hours straight, here's a grand damn spot for it. *mandatory warning that Kater brings in a lot of straggling straight tourists, but hopefully, door policy and ticket sales will keep them at bay.

Collections will be made for Queere Jugend Berlin.

Puticlub, Hoe_mies, and London's 2CPERREA — this collaboration is so gorgeous I thought my eyes were deceiving me. If you want some real queer latinx joy, big energy dancefloor bangers, and you've somehow got the energy of a feral chipmunk on Pride Sunday, get your butt to OXI.

What's Pride without a little Riot? Here's a party some great groovy, slutty techno with a commitment to community and care. Joining the Riot residents, we've got some of our favorite folks from Lecken and Mamba Negra for a lineup straight out of my daydreams. Smaller venue, so this might be a sweet spot to boogie your chaotic Pride weekend to a close. It's going to be fucking gorgeous.

I never, and I mean never, encourage folks to lay low but... this weekend is intense and there's a lot of pressure to have all of the fun, all at once. The parties are a little more pricey... you've been baking in the sun at the marches... maybe you just take your nearest and dearest to the canal and have a few Späti beers or dance about your apartment (if the neighbors complain inform them that they're being homophobic).
