  • Pride Party Picks: Berlin CSD 2024

A guide to pride, from your local festivities lesbian. The Christopher Street Day (CSD) celebration is, of course, a historic marker of the queer liberation struggle. But it's also a great time to be the gayest lil feral club rat you can be. Here's your overview of the best parties to gay it up this year (with regular updates, I promise) so you can plan a pride weekend to be your best, or worst, self. Take to the streets, then to the bar, then to the club... and another club... then rinse and repeat baby. Sleep is for the straights. Have a blast. Take care of each other. Party Dyke loves you. Friday 26th - Post-Dyke March Saturday 27th - Post-Pride Friday 26. Maricas OXI Jesus Christ this will be a delightfully dykonic night. MARICAS are a FLINTA* collective from Barcelona and I am ever yearning for their return to Berlin upon the banks of Spree like an old-timey sailor's wife. But next Friday, this is where I reach peek lesbian. This is where FLINTA* folks ascend to peek feral party creatures. The music will be gorgeous. Personally, I fangirl for ĀBNAMĀ, acidheaven, Cora, Maara, regularfantasy... honestly half the DJs on this list are dykons. Starts on Friday at 17:00 and runs until Saturday at 20:00, perfect for those who want to dance for 12 to 15 hours and then catch IQP. Queer Garten / Dyke* March Afterparty Ritter Butzke The official Dyke March after party brought to you by the Queer Garten FLINTA* collective. Filling four dance floors and an open-air chill area, with dykes and FLINTA* folks of near and far. Music-wise— you can expect a full range— house, techno, indie, rock... the full shebang. But... in my humble opinion, their "refrain from any national flags, political statements or groupings" is nonsense. Pride celebration is political or it is empty. I hope they rethink this. Puticlub: Putipride Aeden The big queer Latinx party for your post-dyke-march intrigues. With two floors and seven DJs, including local residents and all-star guests from near and far, for reggaeton, baile funk, guaracha, and queer joy, this is the place to be. A high energy party, so come caffeinnated. Saturday 27. Girls Town: OFFICIAL FLINTA PRIDE PARTY MAAYA (aka HAUBENTAUCHER) It's a big dykey pool party. It's going to be hot as all hell. What more do you need? Get out there and flirt, or just gaze longingly across the pool (ya' bunch'a useless lesbians...) There will be 3 floors so there should be something for everyone; a bit of pop, house and techno. Dress hot, take shots, and maybe actually talk to the buff masc this time. Diamond night: Presented by Oya Oya and Reset Looking for a proper after party to your Internationalist Queer Pride? Looking for a boogie that makes your brain stop hurting after a month of shameless pinkwashing? Need to settle your stomach after the pride floats covered in corporate logos and distastefully rainbowed national flags made you throw up in your mouth?... you get my gist. These two joint events might heal your spirit a wee bit. Starting at 21.00 over at Oya with live performances, then carrying on to the party-party over at Reset on Wienerstrasse around 22.00. Should be a high-energy night, but Reset is a cozy venue so it won't be a grand blow-out, just a sweet little community night. Oya is a QTIBIPOC space first and foremost, keep that in mind if attending. Lunchbox Candy: The Ket Gala ÆDEN Music: Just queer fucking joy. Omg. Adam Munnings knows what my gay soul looks like. House music that is just so good it's perverse. Techno that's transcendent. A touch of trance, garage, acid, all that good mushy stuff in between. Vibe: Profound genderfuckery, the name says a lot. Tough door. Can't recommend showing up late, or without a look that's anything less than ketam*ne bombshell. Golosa CSD OXI This is where you find some real grooves. The music... it's going to be fucking gorgeous. I mean Maze DK, Linda from Work, KH38, 2FARO... Bring sturdy shoes my loves, that will be a hell of a dance floor. This CSD, Golosa are inviting the french Queer collective Discoquette, so yeah the hot french gays are there too. Just sayin'.You can also keep the good vibes going at Killowatt on Sunday afternoon with the Golosa stamp & ticket. That party; also hot. THE LESBIAN FINTA PRIDE PARTY BERLIN FESTSAAL KREUZBERG A second round of Queer Garten in one weekend, this time over at Festsaal Kreuzberg, this time teaming up with the Megadyke for a big dyke night. With four floors, there's sure to be something to please each for each and every queer ear. Kater Blau x Tante Emma x NEST Kater Blau Tante Emma invites the brand-spanking-new queer collective NEST into her Kater Blau home for a night of music, drag, dance, performance and their ritual of the evening: the gender (un)reveal. Color me intrigued. Lovely folks, and music that's not to be missed. Keep an eye out for Camilla Rae (of Body Language acclaim), xpressomartina, qualiatrax, and the dame of the night; Tante Emma herself. It's going to be groovy af. ******* Or just bring your chosen family in and dance in your kitchen I never, and I mean never , encourage folks to lay low but... this weekend is intense and there's a lot of pressure to have all of the fun, all at once. The parties are a little more pricey... you've been baking in the sun at the marches... maybe you just take your nearest and dearest to the canal and have a few Späti beers or dance about your apartment (if the neighbors complain inform them that they're being homophobic).

  • Weekend Party Picks: July 19 - 21

One week until the blow-out CSD pride hullapalooza weekend. Sure, you got to prepare your body and soul for that marathon. Sure. So I am offering you only 5 options to go out to for a "chill early night" that for some reason ends at 11AM in the back room of a späti in Stegli tz \_(ツ)_/¯ Friday 19th Saturday 20th Friday 19. Hamam Nights Panorama Bar Sedef Adasï invites some renowned queer artists, and organisers from the UK, Denmark, and the Netherlands for a steamy night in Pano. The crowd might lean a little fashion gay™ but the music will be gorgeous. Dress hot and dance like the sluttiest twink you know. * Saturday 20. BLVSH for Gaza Crack Bellmer Favorite little local FLINTA* collective BLVSH is taking over Bellmer this Saturday night for a Gaza fundraiser, and folks, it'll be cute as all hell. For this special night, they've curated an all-Arab line-up of residents and local lovelies alike. And it's not too late to sign up for their digital mixing DJ workshop before the party, beginner friendly and all proceeds go towards a family in Gaza. Good folks, good cause, good vibes. Be generous if you can. IN A (CHEEKY) MOOD Acud Macht NEU Up at Acud we've got another cute community night from a fresh FLINTA*-led collective. They've got a night of breaks and beats and brattiness, maybe a little deep house in the works. Nip out for a cheeky little night with some sweet folks. Honky Donk: Broback Mountain Tennis Bar After an unfortunate postponement due to Loophole's sudden closure (RIP queen), HD's found a new spot for their fine night of clownery — It's a whacky queer clown party, what better way is there to spend your Saturday evening than with this beautiful nonsense. You've got local talents Angel Rider and Dornika performing live. This is a night for the goofy, silly neurospicey kids. Come early. For shenanigans. Sunday 21. Dissident x Harmony Rec OXI A local favorite of mine is joining up with Harmony records for a long Sunday groove from some of my fan-girl favorites, from our best and brightest queer crews. Crowd might not be the queerest but god the music will be great. Absolute hats off for DJ Fart in the Club, Zeynep, and the Carly Zeng, Peachonfuse b2b. Golly what a day. Fingers crossed for garden party weather because this could be a perfect Sunday boogie. * It's me. I'm the slutty twink.

  • Event Announcement - Dykes by Night: FLINTA* Nightlife in Berlin: Our Past, Present and Future

Ladies, gentlethems, sapphistocated queers: I present to you Dykes by Night; a tripartite pride month event comprising an exhibition, a panel discussion, and, naturally, a wee afterparty, to showcase and celebrate FLINTA* nightlife culture in Berlin. After more than a year as the arbiter of vibes in Berlin's FLINTA* nightlife, it's about time I put my money where my mouth is and organize something myself. With the support of Pride Month Berlin, and hopefully some of you good folks (see below if you want to lend a hand), we'll have it running from the 8th to 14th of July. Further details regarding speakers, participants, DJs, etc, are coming soon. I'll keep you updated here. The Grand Plan The Exhibition The Panel Discussion The Afterparty Call for Submissions and Participants The Grand Plan The Exhibition The good folks of the K-Fetisch collective have generously offered space in their cafe-bar for an exhibition and subsequent panel discussion, where we hope to bring together academics, artists, organizers, and performers from a range of backgrounds and disciplines to participate and present their ideas about the importance of nightlife in queer culture, its contemporary forms, and our dreams for its future. The exhibition will be on display from Mon 8th to Sunday 14th for your perusal. Unfortunately, the display will be located in the smoking area. Usually, this is well aerated, especially during the day but it can get quite smokey on busy nights. The Panel Discussion On the 12th of July at 19.00, K-Fetisch will host in-depth panel discussion on the history of Berlin’s FLINTA* nightlife and how our community can take deliberate steps to make it more inclusive and caring in the future, particularly addressing crafting trans-inclusive, intergenerational, diverse spaces that continue to serve a pivotal role in the progress of queer liberation. Speakers: Andrea Rottmann - historian of queer life in Germany and author of Queer Lives Across the Wall: Desire and Danger in Divided Berlin, 1945–1970 Bridge Markland - pioneering drag king and internationally renowned performance artist. Founder of the godrag! festival (2002 and 2022). Daddy Dyke - Co-founder and Manager of Magic Dyke masc stripping performance group, up-and-coming DJ Rakita - Internationally acclaimed DJ, resident of the queer feminist hard rave DYNAMIC The Afterparty Once we're done with the nerdy stuff, you're cordially invited to pop up the road to Zum böhmischen Dorf for our afterparty (because I have a brand name to maintain). DJ Lineup: DJ betânia Daddy Dyke Ina Vietha Broccoli With a performance by Lolita Va Voom ca. 22.00. Doors from 20.00, DJ sets from 21.00, and entry is on a suggested 5-15 euro donation, though naturally no one will be turned away for lack of funds. This is a FLINTA* and friends party, while non-FLINTA* folks won't be turned away we ask that they respect their position as guests in the space. ZBD is a wheelchair accessible, smoking bar. Call for Submissions and Participants Well folks we've got an exhibition to fill and I want it to be as multivocal as possible so I'm reaching out for your submissions of thoughts, ideas, stories, hot-takes, dreams, anecdotes, poems, figments of imagination, or whatever materials you might like to show off at K-Fetisch for a week. Old photos, flyers, posters, and artwork would be amazing (and I'll keep them safe, I promise). If you care about FLINTA* nightlife, if you're a party dyke, I want to hear from you. If there's someone you know who would be a perfect participant for the panel discussion, or an ideal DJ for the party or panel discussion, let me know. Participants will be compensated for their time thanks to PMB funding. DM me on Instagram, leave a comment below, or email partydykeberlin@gmail.com . Hope to see you there. xoxo Party Dyke™

  • Weekend Party Picks: July 12 - 14

Well, my dears and dearies, straight pride (the fuckin' euros) is almost over. And most of the worst dudes in Berlin are already home clutching their wounds. So that's means for celebration in my book. Friday 12th Saturday 13th Friday 12. Dykes by Night: After-Party Zum böhmischen Dorf As a totally objective and unbiased observer, I highly recommend this party organized by myself and half a dozen pals. Come to the Party Dyke party, dyke. Following on from an exhibition and panel discussion over at k-fetisch, the folks who want to make nightlife nerdy can pop over to ZBD to round off the Dyke's by Night week of havoc. Performing, in all her charm and grace, star of Berlin neo-burlesque; Lolita Va Voom. On decks, we have some great folks coming in, new and old: DJ Daddy Dyke, Ina Vietha, Brocolli, and the best terrible arm-wrestler in Neukölln, DJ BETÂNIA. In short, it'll be a wee, cute dyke party. What better way to start the weekend? Slime Mystery location If there's one night I'm always looking forward to it has to be Slime. Great music, great folks, and a crew that really cares about community. On decks the Slime crew are joined this time by Cuties res Posture and exude's mx.pinky. I forecast quite a music blend, bit of techno, bit of electro, generally funkiness. Why not start the night off with me, then rock up along Sonnenallee to close the night to their somewhat bigger and certainly better-organized party? Wide Open New Fears Gallery For the sexy artistic queers, Wide Open's in a brand new space for a brand new night of shaking you out of the mold. Start early, finish as fast as you fancy. From 7pm till 2 in the morning, they've got a fine lineup of genderfuckery, benderly performance, sick sounds (à la Rafush and VERTEL), and a DTF darkroom (for the dyk€s, tr@nnie$, f@ggots). It will be beautiful. Intriguing. At times, confusing. But in a good way. Saturday 13. Apéro Club - Pillow Princess X What a Playground Crack Bellmer As soon as you've slept off Friday night's festivities, why not rekindle your Saturday night appetite with an aperitif boogie on this fine Summer evening, and let the Princessin and the good folks of What a Playground guide you through a 12 hours extravaganda. Come mingle, come dance, come lounge about classily with a glass of sauv blanc and steadily devolve like a troubled Pokemon into your pfeffi-shot self. Some top-tier dykes on deck Collections at the door go to support those affected by conflict in DR Congo. GRRRL-NOISY Festival Vol. 2 Mellowpark Love punk rock but don't want to spend time with the worst men you know? Well thank god for the GRRRL-NOISY Festival, back for it's second edition to bring you a full schedule of rock, punk, post-punk, and skateboarding. On the lineup you've got some real greats of the Berlin music scene: Isoscope, Okra, Wüt, Siddhi Shah, and Dornika. Good music, good food, good folks and a good bit of general hooliganism (but in a feminist way, not a angry-football man way). Cuties M01 The cutest of collectives is back to bring you a beautiful blend of soulful house, groovy tech, hard&acid core and all the good stuff in between.. The lineup is beautiful to a T. The cuties crowd lives up to its name. I can't say I know the venue, but regardless, I'd bet they'll make it a night to remember.

  • Dyke Bar Nights: Week July 8 - 14

Another week where my pocket book is packed to brim with fine opportunities for scandal of the dykely persuasion. And look at that, this humble author might have put one or two in motion themselves... @dykemarch_berlin @stueckpopup @mishlepoet @baitmatetheatre @k_fetisch @stueck_36 @ lesbiens.bar @ csd.berlin .pride P.S. • Weekend Party Picks: July 5 - 7

This week's dose of FOMO from your local party homo. Tired out from Fusion festival? Don't worry, the vibes are chill this weekend. But it's pride month, you gotta get out there. Friday 5th Saturday 6th Sunday 7th Friday 5. Layers Grad Party Monarch Local FLINTA* collective Layers has been busy training up a crack team of new DJs to light up Monarch this Friday night, after what I assume was a Rocky-esque training montage. Come out and support these up-and-comers. Gegen Rush Kitkat The big blowout queer night of the weekend, and not one for the faint of heart. This is for the feral folks with a penchant for leather. Not the most sapphistocated party per se, but hell I've never had a bad time dancing with the twinks (although I wish I didn't always get mistaken for one). Saturday 6. Honky Donk [Postponed] Loophole It's a whacky queer clown party, what better way is there to spend your Saturday evening than with this beautiful nonsense. You've got local talents Angel Rider and Dornika performing live. This is a night for the goofy, silly neurospicey kids. Come early. For shenanigans. NEST Prisma Brand new queer party on the scene, kicking off with a cosy little day party at Prisma bar. Running 14-21, you've got a gorgeous lineup with Ahni, Josiane and Inga Sama bringing you on a journey through acid, breaks, house trance and tech. There's some free drinks for early birds so why not start your Saturday party marathon there? casadephunk Crack Bellmer Time to groove. Saturday night is all about house music over at Crack Bellmer. casadephunk is back again with some special guests: Triqi (of BLVSH acclaim) and Josiane (What a Playground). Personally, real excited for elliephunk b2b B.A.O. casa's all about bringing together diverse kinds of artists, prioritizing queer/ BIPOC/ FLINTA, so expect some art alongside your party. Sunday 7. BRENN. x HOMODROP Fitzroy Sunday afternoon we're taking a trip back to the nineties, with the finest house music you ever did hear. Two gorgeous queer collectives, open-air, four gorgeous souls behind the decks. Keep your ears pricked for Jana Falcon and Flemish Fetish, they'll burn the place down.

  • Weekend Party Picks: June 28 - 30

What a beautiful weekend—Friday evening through till the early hours of Monday— babe, keep going until there are three remaining brain cells erratically sparking between those furry club-rat ears. Friday 28th Saturday 29th Sunday 30th Friday 28. Tandera x Coven x fiestuki Fitzroy Brazil, Mexico, Chile—an all-star queer Latinx party trio coming together for a beautiful night where the funkiest house music meets Latin club. With São Paulo's Tandera, our local Chilean-Brazilian collective Coven, and Berlin/Mexico City party corps Fiestuki, it will be a real warm community night. Get ready to decolonize the dance floor with the finest sounds of the transatlantic underground. Hoe__mies x P******** B** Funkhaus Berlin Hoe__mies are back again, this time teaming up with Porzellan Bar for a big night of hip-hop, breakbeat, afrobeat, electro and everything in between. Ngl, I'm not too familiar with the venue or with P Bar but with local legends like Meg10 and Soyklo on the roster and Toronto rapper Sadboi headlining, it will be a gorgeous night to shake some ass. Saturday 29. Leck My Buttons: Buttons x Lecken Anniversary — 8 Years of Controversy OXI Gather your nearest, dearest, and queerest, Lecken and Buttons are coming together for a 22-hour extravaganza. It's going to be an absolute blowout. The lineup: fucking gorgeous. Hanaby b2b Jewel, Dirty Daddy Don b2b Jacob Meehan, Killa... I'm screaming, crying, throwing up. Very queer crowd, though it might be slightly more gay boys™ than FLINTA* folks, but it's the type of space where our community really feels like family. GIRLS TOWN X STICKS & STONES Haubentaucher Dykey pool party. What more can I say. Following on from the Sticks & Stones queer career festival (check out their schedule for Friday and Saturday, plenty of fun queer things alongside the usual job-fair stuff) you can blow of steam with the classic feral FLINTA* party. Get out there folks: find a job or a sugar-mommy. Either way this might be the least financially ruinous night of my year. BIG love Lark Time to get a wee bit wubby. A big night of UK garage, dub, jungle and bass brought to you by the BIG love crew and some special guests. Keep your eyes out for yungfya, they're going to cut it up. Plus a queer choral performance from Singen3000, which... has me intrigued. Also waffles. They sell waffles guys. In a club. That's innovation for you. Sunday 30. WET X LAYERS Watergate This fine Sunday afternoon, two FLINTA* collectives are coming together for the day party of your dreams. WET and Layers are taking over Watergate for a full schedule of trance, techno, and breaks. High energy, good vibes, cute crowd... I shall dock my pleasure yacht on the Watergate pontoon.

  • Dyke Bar Nights: Week June 24 - 30

    Here we go, dykes and co. It's a beautiful week to get your hot gay summer going. @tristezakiezkneipe @oya_bar @crackbellmer @stueck_36 @k_fetisch @birgit.club @morganwoodcallisto prince_gabriel_official_ @pillow.princess.berlin @pepsibostonbarberlin @schwuz @stueckpopup @__marie_moon__

  • Weekend Party Picks: June 21 - 23

Good news: The vibes this weekend are extravagant; extraordinary; exceptional; god damn bloody beautiful. Bad news: They're nearly all on Saturday night. Choose carefully, my friend; the vibes are plentiful, but the hours are few. Friday 21st Saturday 22nd Sunday 23rd Friday 21. FURIOSA: Anitta Edition Lido The queer party of Friday night has got to be Furiosa, lighting up Lido for a night of latin pop, reggaeton and pop hits. This edition is an ode to the queen of Brazilian pop. The crowd might be a little more cis-gay-boy but vibes are a cute, a little silly, and always Saturday 15. BLVSH Affairs Zur Klappe A cosy night with the BLVSH crew, a favorite little local FLINTA* collective that's bound bring you in a cute crowd. Serving up breaks and bass, house and disco, and a bit of everything in between. Excited to catch Peachonfuse again, they practically stopped my heart last time (I might need some non-dancing cardio). Tldr: Excellent folks. Excellent vibes. Subverted. Survival of. Mystery Location The goth gays are out to play. A big night for the big boomy doomy, dark, industrial, queer folks. The vibes are splendid but not for the faint of heart. Kiar Oscuro and hybral might just bring the house down over your head. Bring good shoes and a better attitude, because Subverted brings in the best folks (hidden behind an excessive amount of eyeliner). Golosa x Future East OXI Golosa is back at its new location and teaming up with the Future East crew for a long night of the finest techno, house, and assorted dance musics from our best and brightest. The vibes shall be cute, the energy high, and the gays out in force. Come caffeinated. Rage’n’Bounce Studio Я This week the Gorki Theater hosted Queer Week 2024, presenting a wild range of artistic prespectives in performance, exhibition, music, reading and film, but of course you finely-cultured queers already knew that. But once you've got the high culture out of the way, it shall be time to (figuratively and literally) get low. Lighting it off with an angry rap performance by @n.i.a.2161, followed by punky, bass-heavy beats by @badpuppy4ever @sherryaeri and @aceofdemons it shall be a vibe-and-a-half. Rage'n'Bounce is centered on queer BIPoC FLINTA* folks but anyone with pent-up feminist rage and a hankering to shake some ass is warmly welcomed. HONKY DONK Untergeschoss der Pandora Art Gallery Nonsense clown party anyone? A night of hyperpop, happy hardcore, shenanigans, and chicanery. Maybe not as big a night as last time (running 4 pm - 2 am) but my birds have told me great things about the last edition. It's an album release celebration for the darling Posezur and the performer lineup is goddamn gorgeous. And you know I'd follow DirtyDaddyDon off a cliff if they keep playing on the way down. The party is here, queer, and patently ridiculous but, like, in a sexy way. And I know what you're thinking; "PD, I don't want to f* a clown." To which I say, don't knock it 'til you try it. And how often do you get the chance? *In Berlin, concerningly often. Sunday 23. GAYSHAME Karpfenteichstraße This Sunday, the queers descend upon Hasenheide for a free festival running from 14:00 until sunset. If you're sick of the relentless onslaught of rainbow capitalist, pinkwashed, homonormative nonsense that's steadily twisting Pride season away from everything it was set out to be; this might be an afternoon to give you a bit of hope. There shall be drag, music, workshops, vegan food, and, presumably, a variety of indecent activities on the periphery to shock and offend. Cheers to that.
