Your body is not a temple. It’s a späti. Give up on Saturday morning yoga and come dance with the dykes. Friday 2. Dykes Gone Wild Schwuz Ah finally, the dykes take the helm at Schwuz. Here comes a hefty dose of pop to cleanse my Berlin-EDM-basted party palette. My only contact with Taylor Swift apart from literally all media. Who do we have but the Berlin Strippers Collective performing to have you swooning like a Victorian lady. Game plan: dress hot, spend next month’s rent on tequila to acquire some completely unjustified confidence, cry when they play Robyn, and likely create drama that will occupy the rest of February. No ragrets. Saturday 3. Bender II Zur Klappe Ooh I’m getting heart flutters just thinking about this one. Techno, electro, hedonism, lasers and drag, what more can you ask for in a party. A lineup with some local darlings to notch it up: Amperia, SPINO and LSN101 (i.e. Manuela Mayoral & Annechoic). This should be one cute and very queer night, centering trans folks, crossdressers, drag and gender-messiness in all its crazy, colorful forms. However you want to fuck with gender normativity, this is the place to do it. Full-blown, extravagant drag will get you past the queue and in on a donation fee, crossdressing puts you in the express lane, otherwise: dress or undress to impress. Interzone Mysterious Location NK Ah Interzone, such a bunch of sweethearts. Only good vibes to be found in the Interzone crowd and only good sounds to be found in the lineup. This is a night for the techno lovers. Keep an ear open for JuNe, she won’t disappoint. Interzone brings in a lovely crowd. These folks are doing the most to keep some heart and financial accessibility in Berlin’s queer party scene. Hats off. PASSIV AGGRESSIV x DYNAMIC Lokschuppen (formerly Suicide Club) Our favorite queer-feminist hard-rave collective is teaming up with PASSIV AGGRESSIV for a long, loud night of hardtechno, hardcore and gabber. I must admit that this isn’t the most FLINTA*/queer space, but I hope that Dynamic fans will bring kindness and care to the crowd. If you want to go hard this weekend, this would be my choice.

The good news: there's so much on this weekend's gay agenda. The bad news: it's almost all on Saturday night. Saturday 27. Furiosa: FLINTA* edition Lark By golly, Berlin’s premier queer latinx party has their FLINTA* edition this Saturday night. Offering a mix of regaetton, pop and latin pop, we can expect a little bit of Shakira, Rosalia and Bad Bunny to thaw out the January chill. Cuties Zur Klappe The cutest wee queer party crew are bringing some of the best music of the weekend to Zur Klappe. By my forecast we can expect a high-energy genre blend, a bit of house, some groovy techno, perhaps a little latin bass, and everything in between. God knows I'm a 131bpm megafan but I'm hyped up to hear what wyfe material is bringing to the floor. Expect a sweet little party in a sweet little venue. Queer Garten Club Gretchen Queer Garten, a night for FLINTA* and Friends, is coming to Gretchen. Two floors. One for pop, R&B and indie. One for electro and house. There will be bodypainting. There will be go-go dancers. Why does every party not have go-go dancers? They're doing the Lord's work. Resolution for 2024: more go-go dancers. HE.SHE.THEY. Watergate This is a new party on my radar but it sounds pretty queer, pretty funky and perhaps a place to be if you're seeking out some uplifting house, groovy techno, and gorgeous dance and drag performances this Saturday. Seems like it could be something special. Sunday 28. Layers Watergate This Sunday, the day of our lord, Layers is back with a FLINTA* party to write home about. Firing up Watergate with an absolutely stacked lineup. You can expect some of the finest house music. We simply gotta turn out for Audrey Danza and dj sweet6teen. And they promise a mystery performer will grace the party. I'm intrigued. I'm excited. Let’s go babes. No flaking. The vibes are here. Also is Watergate hitting some kind of queer cultural renaissance? One minute it’s all polo-bros and high-heels and now it’s all dykes and drag and cool alternative folks. Love it. Slay on Watergate, slay on.

BLVSH: Affairs Zur Klappe BLVSH is back at it again. Our favorite FLINTGA DJ collective is bringing a night of high-energy hard, hypnotic, groovy, and harmonic dance music to Klappe. If you want a cosy, cute, community night dancing in a former gay cruising toilet, don’t miss it. Are Ya Sick of Us Yet? 2nd Annual Tipsy Bear Takeover of S036 SO36 Last year for three grim months Berlin was without its premier drag bar. It was a dark time for us all. But we persevered. For in that gloom there was a burst of light: the Tipsy takeover of SO36. A fabulous night of dance, music and drag. And now they’re doing it all over again. Rampaging through the halls of SO36, in a bedlam of drag, disco, house, and various gender-bendy sexy shenanigans. Saturday 20. Meid Untertage Meid is back with another queer party night of fast-house and forward-thinking techno. I’m particularly excited to catch Olga Biber again and, of course, to bid a last farewell to Untertage. Our cozy queer club dungeon will be sorely missed. Femmedecks x Vorspiel Petersburg Art Space Femmedecks are taking over the Petersburg Art Space in collaboration with Vorspiel for a night of experimental live performances, DJ sets and panel discussions on topics surrounding the music industry and Clubkultur. Curated by missteikk and Makossiri, it’s a night to explore and celebrate Berlin’s underground electronic scene. Great topics to be discussed and a fantastic lineup of artists, so it’ll be a vibe whether you come to learn, build community, or simply boogie. Curandera Lark FOmg new queer party on the scene. A Queer Ceremonial Rave. What does that mean? A night chock-full of latinx club, reggaeton, perreo, baile funk, hyper pop, hardcore… Sounds pretty sick. And with folks like MAAY and LIL RISK on the roster, I suspect they have a creative, queer and intriguing night of performance and music in store. Sunday 21. Dissident Watergate Closing off the weekend with the good folks of Dissident in a tribute to the wild and wonderful rave scene of 80s and 90s Valencia- the post-Franco party revolution. Dissident never disappoints on music and with Carly Zeng b2b Cryptofauna and ferrari rot, it won’t be a dancefloor to miss out on.

Long nights, flashing lights, here's what's bringing out the dykes. Friday 12. Trans Fag Dyke Lark We love to see a new party on the roster. A dykey night of house, italodisco, eurodance and trance brought to you by the Allesbien collective and Queer Trans Liberation. Beautiful lineup full of familiar faces of the FLINTA* scene; Kakao Katzê, B Silber and Cat&Broccolli, who always bring the fun. tldr: It'll be cute. It'll be groovy. And the ticket price supports further dyke activities and shenanigans. SLIME Secret Location (NK) The SLIME crew is back again with another cute wee party to warm your bones this Saturday night. With Chrispy, DJ BONEY S and zikade on set you can always expect a proper boogie. And if you caught their beautiful Christmas bash (shout-out to my fellow orphans) you know a SLIME party brings in the cutest, caring folks. Check their Telegram for location updates. Furiosa Lido Furiosa, Berlin’s premier queer latinx party is back again this weekend. Regardless of whether you’re going for a taste of home, or just need a tad bit of TINI, a sprinkle of Shakira, a bit of Becky G, to warm up your weekend this is the spot. Not the most FLINTA* crowd, but a queer chaotic night in all the best ways. Sunday 14. Royal Highness Fitzroy Hear ye, hear ye. The court of queerdom convenes again this Sunday afternoon from 3 to 3. The music vibe is a joyful cacophony; a wonderful experiment; nothing safe; “fast transitions, unconventional sounds, stimulating vocals, bleeps, crunches, provoking samples and hypnotising drums.” I sense a vibe. Rejoice peasants.

January days might be short, dark and grey. But the nights are long, bright and gay. Friday 5. Gegen: Age KItKatClub Oh Gegen, I love the chaos. The vibes. The shenanigans. The silly sexy outfits. And this DJ lineup; I’m dying for it. We’ve got some of our favourites on deck: Amperia, Maze DK, Kiar Oscuro, Sherø… Might have to cool down for a paddle in the kitty pool. Gegen does tend to be a wee bit cis-gay-dude-centric, but there’s a dedicated FLINTA* playground and our Magic Dyke stars Daddy Dyke and Ryder Dyke will be in performance. For that alone, come to kitty my dears. Girls Town Haubentaucher Ah Girls Town, the grand FLINTA* night party night that answers the question what if you could watch the chart from the L Word take shape in real time. I come for the tea. I stay to take shots and flail like a rabid raccoon to the sound of Megan Thee Stallion. Saturday 6. Saturday Love Affair Paloma This Saturday night the good folks of Sunday Love Affair, a Leipzig-based radio collective platforming FLINTA* and BIPoC artists, are lighting up Paloma with the very finest house music.
